Trophy Catch!

We went back to Coleto Creek Saturday evening, had a boat ride, and Jeff found a shaded cove where Zane got to catch his first and second fish! He is so proud that he caught two fish! It was funny to watch him because I expected him to be all serious and concentrating on his fishing, but nope! Jeff put a bobber on it and so while he waited he needed to get lots of drinks of water and then even as he was reeling a fish in, he had to point out some birds flying by and some boats passing. It was too funny.

Rachel did great once again too! We were really happy about that. And she definitely does better in the boat when daddy is going fast! Jeff says she's gonna want a convertible when she goes up! And the top will definitely be down!

Boating!!!

Our family had the BEST time out on the lake this morning! It was Rachel's first time out and we were a little nervous about how she was going to do, but she did great!!!!!! The life jacket has got to be uncomfortable, but she managed to fall asleep and crawl around! And the girl likes speed! She would settle right down when Daddy would go fast!

Zane was such a good boy too and a big boy! He got to drive the boat! I even got a video of him driving, following daddy's directions. He tried to catch a fish, but no luck, but hopefully we will get to try again later this afternoon because we've decided to go back!!!

Our nice neighbors joined us for the fun morning and it was really nice to have them there. I haven't been on a boat in a long time and never with little ones, so it was great to have a couple extra hands when needed. They enjoyed it too!

Thank you Grandada for letting us borrow your awesome boat! We really appreciate it!!!

She was fussy and squirrely, just like in worship, until Jeff put some speed on and then she just went to sleep! And the cord on the pacifier...why haven't I done this sooner?!

Rachel is 1!

What a girl our Rachel is! This was the fastest year of my life. One year ago today, I delivered a beautiful petite girl weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long! What a blessing she is to us. She has brought so many smiles to our faces and so many wonderful snuggles. We are so proud of her! She is healthy and happy and we can not ask for more!

We had a wonderful party for her last weekend. It was SO MUCH FUN. Really it was pretty stress free and I was able to enjoy it too. We had family from all around Texas come and celebrate with us, which was amazing. My parents drove over 4 hours to be with us, Jeff's parents drove 2 hours to be with us, Jeff's aunt and uncle drove 2 hours, his brother drove 2 hours and her adopted grandparents walked across the yard (our neighbors!) Rachey must be pretty special for all those people to take the time to come and spend their day with her. Thank you all for coming! What a joyful time!
