Fishing, fishing, fishing!

Last weekend was the perfect weekend to go visit grandparents in Sargent!  We all had a wonderful time!  Chilly weather, but Saturday ended up being perfect.  And we caught some many fish!  Thank you for having us, John and Janie!

Great grandparents!  We love you!

Rachel with her harvest.  Pecans and lemons.  Or actually it might be an orange.

He ate all weekend out of Grandad's mess kit!  And he loved it!

VBS and Sargent!

I decided to do a backyard VBS and wanted to do waterplay as an activity so we bought a slip and slide.  The kids had a good time on it!  And bonus, it's so easy to set up even I can do it.  Anything to beat the heat while we are outside.

I was really happy with how our backyard VBS went.  First of all, it was hot, but it was also so rewarding.  The first day we had 8 kids, the second day 11 or 12 kids, and then back down to 8.  Every day we did a Bible lesson, craft, play, and ate lunch together.
Day 1:  Jesus wants us to be fishers of men.  Made tie dye shirts, ate sloppy joes.
Day 2:  Jesus wants us to serve Him and others.  We washed feet like Jesus did.  Planted flowers in pots, and ate hotdogs.
Day 3:  Jesus taught Zaccheus a better way-to do what's right.  We made a fish craft, and ate pizza.

I won't post too many picture from VBS, but here are a couple of my kids.

Not the greatest pictures to show how it went, but it was neat.  Our kids were very excited each day and I realized that the effort was worth it.

Grandma D has been teaching Rachel's Bible class on Sunday morning and one Sunday they did the Woman at the Well.  Rachey wanted to make a "real"well that could hold water so this is what we came up with.  She was thrilled.

Reading books never gets old.  :)

Rachel read about half this book to Zane and then I think I finished it.  She did good!

More baking!

We had a wonderful trip to Sargent recently!  The kids got to fish!

Such a pretty evening on the dock.

I tried a panoramic picture which didn't work.  It's very beautiful, but this makes it looks like there is a fork in the creek and there is definitely not. haha

Rachey's fish!

Zane's fish!

This boy definitely takes after his Daddy.  He loves fishing and didn't want to stop.
