Rachel and Zane Variety Post

Lots of times Zane says he can't read just so we'll read him whatever books he wants to read. But yesterday, he actually "read" a whole book to Rachel! It was awesome! And he added some of his daddy's words into it too. :)

Something of mine broke, and since one of Daddy's favorite things to do is take broken things apart, he decided to include the kids this time!  They loved it!

These were taken before bed maybe two nights ago.
Comic #1 and comic #2

Rachel helped me set the table yesterday for the first time.  She did everything but the knives and drinks.  She was very proud.

Rachey was singing silly in this next video. She's such a funny girl.

We went on a big shopping trip to Walmart and I started out with Rachel in the basket and Zane in the seat, but it got to full, so Rachel moved to the seat and Zane, oh boy, got to get down and walk beside me.  Except he didn't walk, he rode!  It was so funny too because he'd have to stop and get a lollipop out of his pocket.  There is a lady that gives out a lot of candy at church and her name is Ms. Lupita, except Zane thinks it's Ms. Pizza!!!! hahahahahahahahah!!!!  Anyway, he was pretending to have a lollipop in his pocket that he'd have to get out and eat!

We've had a lot of rain recently as has most of Texas.  And guess what's coming up???  More of Zane's seeds he "planted" earlier this year!  I wonder what they are?  There are three choices.  Yellow squash, zucchini, or butternut squash!  haha!

And here they are with Daddy before rest today.

Ice Cream Cones!

Zane loves ice cream cones, and now, Rachel does too!  She had her first ice cream cone last night.  We thought it would be a huge mess and Jeff even put an old towel under her chair for when she dropped it on the floor.  I don't think she let one drop get away from her little tongue.  She just ate it right down and enjoyed every bite.  It was really fun to watch her!

She's so cute!!!!!!!

And he is too!!!!!

All gone!!!

Braids!!!

Rachey is very particular about her hair.  She loves and has to have her ponies.  It's part of her comfort.  Thumb and hand on a pony.  And her usual request is, "two ponytails, braids." She does NOT like bows and cries when I try to use one to move her bangs out of the way.  Today I tried to use one of my clips and she cried, no clip! until I took it out.

Anyway, I tried this afternoon to do double braids!  I didn't know if she would allow me to do it-and if she did-would she like them?  Or would they be a no go?  She sat so well and seemed to like them!  As long as she could grab the pony, she was good!  :)  :)  :)  And I need some practice!  haha

A little uncertain, but she found her pony!!!

First time!

Reading with Daddy!
Rachel brings so much joy to us.  She is so funny too.  She is into kissing hurties.  "Kiss it!" she says!  haha!  And when you do, it's all better!  The other day we were coming home from Bible study and heard sirens.  It was a firetruck.  Rachey said, "help some-body."  Yes, they are going to help somebody.  "kiss it."  haha!  She thinks that's the best way to help somebody.

School Supplies!

I think I've mentioned that Zane starts Pre-K this year!  He is excited and this week received a card from Grandma Janie with some school supply money in it.  Thanks, Grandma Janie!  So, what to do but go shopping!!!  He picked his favorite store, HEB, to go shopping at and thankfully they had a steering wheel cart! We were set!  But the best thing happened when I actually let him down from the cart!  haha!  He was so excited, he was eyeing everything and asking if he could get it.  We probably could have bought the entire store out!  haha!  It was really fun to see him so excited.  And then we came home and did school all afternoon.  He wanted "real" work projects, Mom.  :)  I finally had to tell them both that school was closed and I needed to make supper.  :)

He may be a big boy, but he still looks little to me here!

Oh, this was the best thing ever!  He picked out a globe pencil sharpener and loved learning how to sharpen his new pencils!

Zane with all his new supplies!

Rachey wants to do school too!!!!!  Hi pretty girl!!!!

I had some new water colors I've had forever, so they each got one of those.  All Rachel did was play in the water!  I'm going to have to keep an eye on her!

I'm looking forward to the school year with them!  It's going to be a fun time!

It's a Treehouse!!!

Zane and Jeff have been talking about building a treehouse forever.  I asked Jeff what we were going to do this weekend and he didn't know of anything, but when I came back from garage saleing, the treehouse building had commenced and Rachel needed some love because the saws were so loud!  What a great day we had!  I could tell Jeff was enjoying building it and Zane was a great helper!

Working on the floor!

Ear protection is important, especially for Zane. :)

Spent all morning eating ice!

Soaked!

Zane held the floor up all by himself!  Great helper!

Rachel entertaining herself with the scooter chair.

Carried this board all by himself for Dad!  Great helper again!

I think all the nails were out of the box!

Hey, it has a cave too!

Hello down there!

Big girl!

The fun continued after rest time!
Staying cool with water and shade!

Big clouds that we thought we going to bring us rain!

Done for now!  Still to come-a ramp and rail!
