5 Months Old!

This lovey is 5 months old today!  She is close to rolling over and has done so unintentionally several times, but hasn't really done it because she wanted to.  She likes singing and loves being around Zane.  I'm amazed that in one month she'll start eating solid food already!  My girl is getting so big!

Misc.

Went to the store yesterday and used my garage sale double jogging stoller.  My poor kids are going to pretend not to know me one of these days because I felt a little dorky trying to get it in the doors, but it was so awesome!  So much better than carrying one and trying to keep an eye and a hand on the other and trying to return stuff! I do believe I'll do it again!
Jeff jokes that Rachel has me wrapped around her finger, but I found out that Zane does too!  "May I have some chocolate milk, Mommom?"  Yes you may!
And lastly, she wants to sit up, but doesn't quite have the hang of it yet.  :)
"Uh, Mom, can you give me a hand, please?"

Outside!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day with a high of 83 degrees!! We went out before lunch and after naps to enjoy it. I got to digging up weeds and unwanted plants in our flowerbeds. I can't wait to get online use a virtual landscaping site I found. It will let me see how things will look before I actually plant bushes or other plants. I am going to something simple and very low maintenance!

Videos!

Rachel is so fun to go get in the morning.  She just squeals and if she could jump up and down, she would.  :)

I've been trying to get a video of Zane singing this song, and last night he did it in the bathtub!  Fine with me!  We have been singing songs to him at bedtime and this is one of them.

Cookout at Home!

We've had cold weather for quite some time so it was wonderful to be able to get outside on Saturday.  Jeff built a fire and we had hotdogs!  I was once again thankful we were at home and not at a campground because Rachel lost it outside and had to go in.  But I was able to go back outside, thanks to a monitor!  Zane had such a great time.  He ate a whole hotdog, sliced down the middle and two buns. (One half in each hotdog bun.)  He was a stuffed big boy! Then we ate cookies!

The first few pictures are of Zane, Rachel and I out for a little while on Friday, I think.

Definitely teething.  She has found her fingers.  :)  Now if she would just keep them in there longer!

I need to get out more and enjoy the sunsets!

Zane Singing

This video is hilarious.  It took Zane forever to actually sing his song and when he does, you will be surprised!  :)

Sibling Love

I have ALWAYS wanted a boy first and then a girl.  I always wanted an older brother growing up to protect me and I have no idea what else actually.  But I always thought it would be the greatest.  I was shocked that this could come true for my family, but I love it so much!  It was really neat to see how Zane responds to Rachel and Rachel to Zane.

Rachel adores Zane.  Adores him.  She watches him and cries when he leaves and is totally happy when she can be within playing distance of him. Zane looks at her like, 'What are you doing here?', but he likes her too and tries to help her when she needs something.  He still gets his thumb when he gives her a hug and he wants to hold her.   Rachel has actually belly laughed several times when watching Zane and Daddy play.  It's so neat to watch.

I can't wait to see how they interact as they grow older!

Zane Do It

That's what we're hearing nowadays.  :)  Or Zane CAN do it.  He also says, "I can do it besides Zane's self."  :)    Sometimes it's great, other times not so much, but he is becoming quite the independent little guy.
We bought him some rubber boots or "chore boots" as the label called them because he was coming in with soaked socks from playing outside.  He loves his boots and wants to put them on by himself with no help from Mama.  Dad had to help him though because one evening I looked out and he was without boots!  I guess they had come off and he was just walking around with no shoes on.  :)  And it was quite chilly!

Rachel's Bathtime

Last night was a big night for Rachel!  She graduated from the bath sling to a bath shelf in her blue bathtub!  She liked baths before and now she loves them!  She kicked her legs so much and had so much fun moving around.  The bath sling made it to where she couldn't really move and she's gotten so big that it just scrunched her up in there.  Now that she has freedom, she wiggles a lot!

The water feels so good, except at first she was holding both legs up in the air!

All clean!
