She loves the little cars that Zane got for Valentine's day. I realized that she can't play with them though because of small parts! But she does still get to watch them go.
The video is of Rachel laughing at the cars. Unfortunately, Zane didn't want to share! So, you get to hear a laugh followed by a fuss.
Last Tuesday we had a nice visit with my folks. They are doing well and had a good visit with the kids I think. Zane got to sing songs with them and we got to do our devotional together. It was funny fitting four adults and two kids on the same couch, but we all fit!
Yesterday our little family spent most of the day outside working on the yard. The flowerbeds needed much work, so my goal this year was to just do the front flowerbed. There are flowerbeds on all four sides of the house, but I am overwhelmed at the thought of that, so I just decided to do the side that can be seen from the street. I didn't know what I was doing, so I took some pictures at the Victoria Educational Gardens and then went to Lowes and couldn't find any that I took pictures of. But Lowes was more in our budget than the local garden center so I bought most of the plants there. Jeff went to the nursery when I had to stay home and found three butterfly bushes and three cuban golds. They look really great. I am pleased with how the front turned out and now we just wait until they grow!
Here are some recent pictures:
Jeff tilling a new garden for me! I have been feeling bad and haven't gotten it planted, but good thing because we have cold weather coming! I'm planning on planting green beans, cantaloups, zucchini, pumpkins, and bell peppers.
When we went to the Victoria Educational Gardens, there were some kumquats under a tree on the ground and a lady there said we could take some and see if we could grow some! Zane is planting one here. We have three we are trying to grow.
Jeff replanted the tropical looking plants from the front of the house in from of his barn.
Keeping Zane hydrated with "juice." He loves it. :)
The cutest little boy ever, who doesn't like to be called a little boy.
The garb I have to wear for a while outside. Pollen or the sun or both are really bothering my skin. It actually helped to wear this but it sure was hot. Can't wait until it's 100 degrees outside.
My very happy gardening companion.
Working on my flowerbed.
My super duper waterer yesterday. But he wanted to water the clover to. :)
He did great.
Lounging in her stroller. Putting her feet up for the first time.
A stroller moving through the yard.
Pushed by her brother!!
Happy, sweet, comfortable.
Watering my blueberry twig. I have high hopes for this little guy.
Zane came in at noon with a cough and it was much worse today with a runny nose and fussiness, so he stayed home from Bible class today. He got to learn how to use scissors today.
He got to read a million books with dad this morning and then Rachel joined them when we got home from worship.
Zane with his new preschool scissors. He loves cutting. The smaller the piece, the better. It was like confetti in the living room.
There are so many changes going on with Rachel. Because she can roll over, she has started sleeping on her tummy and seems to really enjoy it. She even gets her thumb! She can also get her pacifier back into her mouth now too. I've been waiting for that!
She can also sit up for a few seconds at a time. It's really amazing how fast she's growing.
I decided it was time for Rachel to play with dolls! Enough of trucks and tractors. hah! I don't think she'll be able to get away from them, but I decided she could have another option too.
I tried to get a picture of her watching Zane. She loves watching him.
Zane loves loving on his sister too!
She also learned a new trick too! The first one is a long long long video at breakfast and the second is the actual trick, though still long. Babies don't do things on demand! It's amazing how one day they do it and the next can do it more!
She is also sitting better than in the first picture above!
Rachel is rolling over! She's so cute! She rolls from her back to her tummy. She has been trying to for awhile but yesterday was the day she did it over and over and over. I laid her down by the bathroom where I always do when Zane has a bath and I heard her crying. She had rolled over onto the cold tile! I have to start putting her in the right position because it only takes her a second to move to her tummy now. I remember how exciting it was when Zane started rolling over and it was just as exciting with Rachel!
Rachel has gotten a lot faster since these videos taken yesterday.
This lovey is 5 months old today! She is close to rolling over and has done so unintentionally several times, but hasn't really done it because she wanted to. She likes singing and loves being around Zane. I'm amazed that in one month she'll start eating solid food already! My girl is getting so big!
Just recently, Zane has started playing while he takes a bath! I am just amazed that one day he doesn't do something and the next day he does. God made each day with a growing baby interesting! Here are some recent bath time pictures.
