Story time!
Yesterday we went to the library! There were so many little toddlers there! Zane was a little shy and sat in my lap most of the time, but he did pop up when the librarian offered her hand during a song! It was also so neat because she did a little song/story with fish and a shark. The shark would come along and eat a fish, and then the kids would count the fish that were left. When she asked one time how many fish were left, I heard a little voice down below my chin say, "Two!" And he was right! There was two fish up on the board! :)

LEGOS!!!!
Zane is now the proud owner of legos!!!! I saw his cousin, Elliot, playing really well with some legos, so I thought Zane might like some. And of course, Jeff loved playing with legos when he was younger, so I thought it was something they could do together!
We decided that Zane spent some of his Christmas money on these, so THANKS Great-Grandma Louise!!!
Aren't they cute??? |
Sticky Rolls!
I used my awesome bread machine to make these beauties when it was really cold out. I thought that they would smell good cooking. I have them in the freezer now and it only takes a sec to take one out and heat it up. Mmmmm! Zane approves too!

Well Check
This morning, Zane went in for his 18 month well check. He sure doesn't liked being looked over! It is the end of the world! But, I can totally understand it. Some stranger peering into your ears and in your mouth while you sit in your diaper must not be very pleasant. He was a good boy though and made it through. He also got three shots today and the good news is that he doesn't have to have any more vaccines until he is 4 years old! That seems like a long ways away!
The doctor said he was average for his height and his weight was in the 36th percentile. She was happy with how he is doing and we are thankful for a healthy boy!
Zane's language just really seems to be coming along. He can say a bunch of words...ready, go, home, daddy, mommom, ball, wawa, and lots of other words I can't remember. He has also started counting. I was putting drops of honey on each piece of biscuit he had and he said ooooone, two!, and that's all he knows, but he's working on three. He loves saying two the best and that's how old he wants to be. I ask him how old he is and he just looks at me, so I say one! and he shakes he head and says two! :)
He is in love with anything with a motor. He loves, loves, loves lawnmowers-brrrrrum, brrrrrum! And then he points to the backyard and wants us to go start the mower. He also still loves the vacuum cleaner and is so happy when it's out and running. Yesterday I was vacuuming and told him I needed to move the cord, but I got distracted and was texting Jeff. Well, here he comes over and starts to unplug the cord! It's also so sad when the vacuum has to go back into the closet. We have to tell it bye-bye, and touch it and then be so sad when the door is closed. He sure does like it! Maybe I should start teaching him how to vacuum! One of my friends said that the willingness to help disappears when they are 9 years old, so I need to take advantage of it while I can, right?
He is a really good boy. We just love him so much. He could fold his hands when we prayed, but now he wants to hold our hands. I love it. All three of us hold hands when we pray at the table. It's so sweet. He also has started to sing, and yesterday did very well saying the "yes!" in Jesus loves me! He also likes to direct the songs, especially in church. He waves his arm and then points to whomever is looking at the song leader. I also have an old songbook on the table by the couch and he loves for me to get it and sit with him and sing and wave my arm. He leads too and loves to turn the pages.
Hope y'all all have a great day!

Outside
Jeff drained the waterheater yesterday with his little sidekick. After that, we went to the backyard and Jeff got Zane a little container that he could fill with water and splash in. We had a great time even though it included a phone call to poison control. I must say, they were really efficient and the whole phone call lasted one minute, twenty-six seconds! Zane was playing with the Indian Hawthorns and when I went over there, it looked like he put something in his mouth. I don't think he ate a berry, but I called just in case. The man at poison control said that it could cause an upset stomach and to have him drink water, but that was it! And to call back if I needed something else. It really is a great service.
Zane is saying "Brum, Brum" in the video because he wants Daddy to start the lawn mower soooo bad! Peeese???

Catching Up
We have had a really nice week. Yesterday, Zane and I went to a young mother's luncheon and he got to play with his friends. I didn't take any pictures, unfortunately, but we were both a fan of an awesome bean dip. My friend shared the recipe.
Awesome Bean Dip
1 can pinto beans, drained
1 can refried beans
1 can rotel, drained
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon oregano
Bake in the oven until hot and top with cheese.
We've also had a cold spell (only two days, but hey, it's South Texas). Several neighborhoods are without power, so we are thankful we have heat!
Zane sure loves his tat. That's ketchup for those of you who don't speak toddler. :) He needs lots of tat when he eats his veggie patties.
We ordered something online and they had a sale, so we had six dollars left on our gift card that we needed to use up. The only thing on the whole website that was less than six dollars was a kids hat on sale! So, Zane got himself a free hat! He modeled it for us yesterday.
I guess Zane wanted to be snuggly this morning because he wanted his mimi (blanket) wrapped around him. It could have also been because I was washing his other mimis and he needed a mimi right then!

A Little Love On the Way!
We are happy to announce that we are going to welcome another little baby Harris in August! We are excited and so blessed. I got to see him/her yesterday and hear the heartbeat. I also could see the heart beating. It is just so amazing. One plus of having a c-section with Zane is that I know the date of our next baby's birthday! Mark it on your calendars...August 26th! Of course, that is subject to change if neccessary.
Our beautiful baby blob! :) The left side is the head, and the right side is the bottom. |
Happy Kid!

Outside
I think we are in the nicest weather that South Texas offers. In the morning it's cool, but in the afternoons it's been in the 70's with really low humidity. It is sooo pretty and nice. Almost every day after lunch, we've been going out for a few minutes. Zane loves walking around the yard, and Jeff almost always finds something to mess with. I usually just sit back and relax, water, or pick some dead flowers off my plants.
Headed to see what Da's doing. |
Tried out my new camera on a butterfly Zane and I were watching and didn't get a good shot! Ha! |
Sort of better, but not on pretty flowers. Next time! We sure enjoyed watching it though. |

The Piano Man
A few days ago, I mentioned that Zane got to play with a Christmas present from his great aunt and uncle. It is a large piano mat. He had a lot of fun playing and now that I know how to post videos, you get to see it too!

Videos
I have been having trouble uploading my videos and tonight, my loving and patient husband, Jeff, helped me learn something new! I started uploading my videos to youtube and then learned how to embed them in my blog. The videos are unlisted, so the only way that you will be able to see them is to follow the link on my blog. I think it works great. The only thing I am not thrilled about is the pictures that come up after the video has played. These are links to other videos on youtube, not Zane videos. If you would like to view the Zane video again, just click on the arrow that goes around in a circle (repeat) and it will play it again, or you can just refresh your page to get it back the way it was originally. The good news is that people with apple products will be able to view them on their iphone or ipad! (I'll take payment in diapers!--just kidding) If you have any concerns, please let me know.
Here are some videos from my new camera in HD that I haven't been able to post before. Enjoy!

Yane!
Zane has started saying his own name! And since he can't say his Zs yet, he says Yane!!! It is so cute and wonderful to hear him say it. He identifies himself in pictures too!
Zane is also a great helper. We put up the laundry together. He can put up his bibs, his burp clothes, his washclothes, and now his towels!
He also has been enjoying one of his Christmas presents, his big dump truck.

Today I tried a new setting on my camera to see if I'd be able to upload videos onto this blog. I hope it works! We also got out a toy from Christmas...a huge piano mat that Zane can walk on and play. I couldn't figure out the volume at first and we got dad out of his office before we could turn it down!
Zane likes getting into containers these days. |
The monkey sticker is still with us. I'm surprised it has any sticky left at all. |
Well, my videos didn't upload. Sorry! Maybe next time!

Happy 4th Anniversary to Us!
Today has been a wonderful day! Zane and I got to skype with Amanda and Elliot, then we met some friends at Chick-fil-a, I talked to my mom, and my hubby came home from work with these beautiful roses! And it's a wonderful day because it's our anniversary!!!
Zane had a wonderful time eating his veggie patties and chicken and he was covered in ketchup, so I had to take off his clothes after he ate. He had a fun time running around in his diaper. :)
After he got all clean, he decided he just needed to read on the go.
They are gorgeous! |

Just Around the House
I'm still getting used to my new camera-especially putting them on my computer. I really like the pictures it takes though and the zoom. I took a couple pictures of Zane in his new jammies that his Grandma D gave him and his new overalls. Also, today, he really enjoyed playing with the laundry basket and was occupied for a long time getting his mimi (blanket) all situated with his books. It was really cute.
Getting set to play. |

He loved having his picture taken in the laundry basket. I have tons of them because I would put the camera away and he would say, "pees"! |
Ahhhh, comfort! |
