This morning, Zane and I went and watered plants. I've been neglecting the backyard and it is time that it got some attention. My poor plants, namely my gold star esparanza and my crossandra are just pitiful! The "cold" and lack of water have taken their toll. But, they still have some green on them, so I hope if they get some tender loving care, they will spring up and grow their little hearts out.

Tomatoes in January, anyone? |
Zane has started leaning in or reaching for us! It is so awesome to know what he wants-that he wants to be closer to us. He also did something really funny last night. He was over on his blanket with his toys and I was in the kitchen. He started crying. Then, he stopped. I didn't say anything, just kept working on supper. So he started again, then stopped. I looked over there and he was fine! He did this about five times and then just started playing and talking to himself. It was like he was listening to see if anybody was coming!

Would I do that??? |

Nah!! Not me! | | |
My mom gave Zane my fisher price radio that I had when I was a baby/young girl. He loves it! We wind it up and he looks and plays with it. And when it quits, we wind it up some more! Pretty soon, he'll be winding it up on his own!

Zane favors the blue string, in case you are wondering. |
Zane is doing well eating. This week is still sweet potatoes and next will be acorn squash. I think he'll be ready to eat two solids a day. He does so good in his highchair. I read about teaching a baby highchair manners and I think it's working. He's pretty good about keeping his hands in his lap.
We had a nice time out on the patio this afternoon too. I brought Zane's little chair outside and sat him in the shade while I cracked some pecans. It was windy and warm. It's hard to believe, but it was in the 90s today. I took Zane's socks off so his toes could feel the breeze. :-) He has tickley tootsies too and would just grin and laugh when I tickled them!
Hope you all had a good day too!
Love,
Amy
