My Mother's Day

My wonderful husband made lunch and supper for us!  Made me sit on the couch or chair!  It was so nice and all tasted so good.  He made lasagna and french bread for lunch and for supper we had fancy french toast and the best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted!

I am so proud of my family!   I love them so much!

While Daddy made breakfast for supper, I had time to get two kids clean!!!  That was soooo nice!!

Dada is a well oiled machine in the kitchen!!!

And I got to eat off the red plate for the first time!!!
Thanks for making it a special day for me, Jeffy!

Saturday

Saturday we got to go to Sargent and spend time with the family there.  It was a really fun time!  I am thankful for family!  I also really appreciate Jeff getting Rachel to sleep and napping with her.  I know it took away from his family time, but it did make a happy girl!  I also had fun going shopping with Grandma Janie at the new Dollar General in town.  We ooooed and ahhhed over everything.  :)  I also had such a great time shooting targets.  I need to practice some more!

Zane and Rachel had fun driving the tractors.  I was really glad Rachel finally got on one!  And she had a great time!

Homemade Crackers

My little helpers and I made homemade crackers this morning!  I am excited to make them again with a few changes next time.  The kids liked them alot, which means tons.  My whole point to try and make the crackers is to shave a few dollars of the grocery bill.  We like to eat them with sandwiches at lunchtime.

I could not do anything today without my two helpers.  :)

Zane's turn.

Then of course, Rachel needed a turn!

Are you watching me, Zane?

All rolled out on the baking sheet.

Putting fork pricks in it because we're fancy.  :)

Ta-da! Garden vegetable flavored crackers!

Next time I need to roll them thinner and cook them longer to get them crispy.  Some around the edges were crisp, but the others were sort of like a tortilla as Zane said.  Then, the fatal mistake was putting them in the oven again after they were cool to try and make them crisp.  Not such a grand idea.  They got so tough you couldn't bite them.  Oh well!  Live and learn and try again!  At least we tried them before I recooked them!

Outside

We had a staycation this week with Jeff off of work.  It was a busy working week because we started and finished painting the whole house except the door.  Pictures will follow when the door is complete.  The kids got to play alot outside and really did well considering both of us were painting.  They played lots in the water table and they have started riding their Big Wheels together.  I hope Rachel starts pedaling soon.  She can keep her feet on the pedals pretty good when we push her and she really likes doing what Zane does.  And today I was really happy because I was painting on the front of the house and they both came up there.  I didn't have any toys or anything, but I did have my phone, so I played toddler tunes on it.  I looked over and they were sitting in the shade, both digging happily in the dirt.  I was glad they could entertain themselves.  Oh, and this was funny.  Zane would get "stuck" with his big wheel and need a tow truck, so I'd have to call one.  I didn't even have to get down to get him out, he would just pretend and out he'd come.  Well, Rachel needed a tow truck too several times!  And Zane would go and get her unstuck.  It was so cute.

A girl on a mission!

Tractors are for girls too!  Rachey really likes playing with them!

And Zane loves his big wheel!  He loves zooming around the house! And he IS fast!

Daddy, will you fill up my teacup, pretty please?  Oh of course, Rachey girl!  Because I love you!!!  :)

Daddy has taught them well.  They are spreading the out the dirt from a gopher mound!

Somewhere in this picture is a lizard.  Right above the branch.

My little sweetie!

My two wonderful round faced babies.  I love them!!!!!!!!

Going in for the night!

Zane's First Poem

In the bathtub last night, I thought it would be fun to teach Zane "Roses are Red" poem.  He liked it alot!  And then he made up his own!!!  I was so surprised!  The first two lines make sense, but the last two don't really.  I got a video of it and just now listened to it.  I think he is saying it a little different now.

Zane's First Poem

Skies are blue
Clouds are white
You make me precious,
Honeybear, white!

:) :) :)

And he knocked me down with his hug!  :) :) :)

Garden Is Producing

I picked our third zucchini this morning!!!  And the house is smelling lovely because I baked zucchini bread!!! (Jeff's suggestion!)  It is tasty!  We've also picked about 6 yellow squash and a bunch of wonderful, tasty green beans!

I've never seen butternut squash growing, so I am so thrilled that we have at least five trying to grow.  They are the cutest things!
I will keep posting updates on these pretties!

I'd like to expand our garden this fall.  I'm thinking broccoli, carrots, and potatos.  Wouldn't that be so fun?  I think so.  What else should I try to grow?  One that I have learned is we don't need many plants of something because it's hard to keep up with what we have now!  I'm hoping our neighbors get home soon so I can give them a squash or two!  :) :) :)

Good-bye April!

It's already May 2nd!  I have some pictures that I need to post so I can start fresh in May with my posts.  Zaneo, Zaneo has been sick with tonsillitis.  Poor baby.  I thought he'd be feeling better by now, but he still is sick and doesn't have an appetite.  Poor thing.  Rachey is still healthy although we were worried about her because she was still sleeping at 9:30 this morning!  We should have just let her sleep, but she woke up with a smile, so that was wonderful.  I guess they just need to do some catch up sometimes.  I wish I could do that!

This pretty girl has started helping me pick green beans!  She also likes to try and eat them.  Crunch!

Jeff went fishing with his brother this last weekend and oh how I hated to bother him on the way home with news that the air conditioner wasn't working.  But of course, he's the best and got it fixed in only 3 hours!  It was the contact box.  The other one wasn't working and would blow a fuse everytime.  So, yay! Jeffy saved us over 500.00 because we didn't have to pay for the after hours air conditioner repair man!
And he is the absolute best daddy because he is explaining everything to our kids!  :)  Aren't they so cute???
I guess I didn't have as many pictures for you in April as I thought!  Hope you all have a good May!
