Sleeping Boy

Zane is turning one on Saturday and I have found myself trying to hang on to every detail.  I know it's not going to happen, but I'm sort of afraid when he turns one he'll just be totally different and won't do the cute baby things that he does now!  I know that will happen eventually and probably so gradually that I won't really notice, but I decided to take a picture of him sleeping just in case when he turns one he doesn't sleep with his bottom in the air anymore!  :)  And just so you know, I am happy that he is growing up!  He's so much fun.  It's just been a time of remembering this week.

I just love this face.  Love the chubby cheeks, and the double chin.  :-)  It makes my heart happy to look at him when he's so peaceful.

We have had Zane sleeping in our room in his pack n' play since we brought him home because I was so worried that something would happen to him if he was away from us.  Well, it has been hard to sleep because he makes lots of croaking, squeaking, and other various noises when he sleeps.  Most of the time, I end up checking on him only to find his eyes closed and him asleep.  Last night we decided it was time to have him sleep in his own room.  The doctor recommended putting something under the mattress to angle it slightly to help with keeping his food down and so, at 3 weeks and 4 days old, he slept for the first time in his crib!  And it was great!  We have a video monitor in the room, so I was able to see him in our room and hear him.  I heard him at 2:30, went and fed him, put him to sleep again by 3:30, and while he did make a few noises after that, we both went back to sleep!  He woke up again at 7!  I am so happy that it was a successful night.  I thought I might end up sleeping in his room on the guest bed, but it didn't turn out that way!

These next two pictures were taken at supper yesterday.  He was cold, so Jeff wrapped him loosely in a blanket and he just looked so cute, I had to take a picture!

Rainy day sleeping

So far, we've had 6.03 inches of rainfall here in the past 24 hours.  We are happy to be inside and snuggly today.  Zane sure does like sleeping on a rainy day!
