First Haircut

Rachel got her first haircut today!! Her bangs were in her eyes and I thought they might bug her especially since she has started rolling over and sleeping on her tummy. She doesn't always wear bows and certainly not to bed so I decided she needed to have her bangs trimmed. We went outside to where Daddy and Zane were and did it in the barn. It was hard because my little owl kept turning her head to watch the goings on of Zane and Daddy! She sure does love watching them. Anyway, here is a before and after picture.

Haircut!

Zane has gotten many haircuts before, but today was the first time I used the angle guard on the clippers!  It was just getting so long over his ears and it needed to be fixed.  :-)  I set him up on our bathroom counter and he watched himself in the mirror while I buzzed!  It worked great!  Here are some pictures.  I have no idea if you will be able to tell or not, but I can and think it made a difference.

New Do

Zane got another hair cut on Saturday.  I sat out on the patio with him in a box and went to snipping.  When the box quit working (meaning he was getting wiggly), I put him in his bathtub.  It looked pretty good, but I wasn't pleased because I could see the scissor marks in his hair, so he got another one Monday with the clippers!  Buzzz, buzzz!  I was afraid he would be scared, but he wasn't and it looks much better.  Much more even!

Second Haircut

Today while Zane was sleeping, he had his hair cut and his nails trimmed.  He was pretty fuzzy and his hair was really uneven from our first attempt at cutting his hair with clippers (yikes!), so I decided to try again with scissors.  It was neat cutting it.  It was so soft and baby fine.

Zane got a card from his Bible Class teacher at church!  There are four teachers that rotate and they are really really wonderful.  They such a great job teaching him.

So, yesterday I must have had too much time on my hands, but you know the feeling you get when you need and really really want a change in hairstyle?  Well, yesteray I had HAD it!  I needed a haircut right then.  So, what to do?  You know, I think I can cut my own hair.  The internet should have some tips.  So, I googled it and sure enough, they even had videos!  Oh, I can do this!  No problem!  I had about 15 minutes before I had to go get Zane from his nap.  I got out my ruler and went to work.  Measuring down from my earlobes  just like they said to do it on YouTube.  Snip, snip, snip!  About two inches off.  Hmmm, I think I want it shorter!  So, snip snip snip I went and two more inches came off!  I got Zane, fed him, and then put him on the floor in the bathroom because after all, it's Wednesday night and I have to get my hair looking presentable!  So, Jeff calls, is on his way him and asks what Zane and I are doing.  Oooooh, wellllll, Zane is on the floor and I am cutting my hair!  "You're what?"  bahahahahahahah!  So, I went to church with a ponytail in and went to get my hair cut this morning.  It was hilarious listening to the girl cut my hair. I just had to come right out and confess.  Oh my...hmmmm...did you angle the ruler out when you did the front???  hahahahaha!    :)  So, this is my new do!

Zane has the longest hair I've ever seen on an infant!  I'm thinking of trimming the bottom so it's at least shorter than his collar!  I'm just not sure when I want to do it.  How long should I wait?  Has anyone else ever give a week old little baby a haircut?
