Lake Texana

We went on a wonderful family outing today!  We've driven by Lake Texana Park every time we've gone to Bay City, looked at the disc golf course on the side of the road, but we've never stopped.  On the way home the other day, Jeff stopped and checked it out and today we made a day of it!

We left this morning after feeding Zane and got there while it was still cool.  It was so pretty out.  We played disc golf for about two hours.  And only until we were leaving, did another couple show up!  Jeff is really good at playing, me on the other hand-it takes me about three times as many tries as it does Jeff to get my disc in the basket!

Having a great time!

Going for the basket!

We didn't keep score, but I was smoked!

My wonderful, wonderful, wonderful family.  I love them.

After we played disc golf, we went across the highway to Lake Texana Park, paid the $3.00 entrance fee and had a wonderful picnic!  Zane got to try acorn squash for the first time and Jeff and I ate delicious turkey sandwiches that Jeff made.  We had our pick of picnic tables and got to munch away in the shade of a huge tree!

Yummy acorn squash!

More please!

Very happy baby!

My sweet boys in our spot!
We went walking on some trails after lunch.  What a nice park!  We walked a lot through woods and thankfully didn't see any snakes or alligators.  Zane took a snooze on the way too.  He was tuckered out!
Headed down the trail!

Swampy little lake.

Snoozy.

Me and my sweetheart!

Taking a break.

Hi!  I like to take my socks off!

Adventure!

Zane and I had our first adventure out all by ourselves today.  I had a doctors appointment so I decided I would be best to put him in the stroller so I could have my hands free.  It went great!  He didn't squall on the carride and did great in the stroller.  We even got to swing by the bank on the way home.  I was really glad to get home though.  That was enough of an outing for one day.  Oh, and my doctor said everything looked great!

Matagorda

This weekend we went to see Jeff's parents for Mother's Day and had a wonderful time! On Saturday we took a little drive to the coastal town of Matagorda, TX!  It was my first time, so I got to play tourist.  We drove around looking at houses, walked on the long fishing pier, and ate at a wonderful restaurant on the harbor.
Enjoy the pictures that document our day!
A peacock!  But I couldn't get a picture in the sun.
New bridge going over the intercoastal.
Going over the fancy new bridge!
One day short of 34 weeks!

Loooong pier.
Shoreline-it was prettier after the sargassum.

These are really large waves for Texas-there were even surfers out there!

Babymoon? Possibly!

Last weekend we were able to go to Midland for a visit to see some of our family and church family.  It was a wonderful time!  I always feel like I am rushing around to try and visit everyone that I'd like to in a short time, but this time we were able to stay a day longer.  It was great!  I got to attend both worship services, a wonderful baby shower, and eat lunch with many great people!  We stayed with Harold (Jeff's granddad) and Louise, and had a great time visiting with them and playing the family game, Wahoo!  And Louise was so kind to fix us a huge breakfast on Monday morning!  We had eggs, bacon, and biscuits and it was so delicious.  :)
Playing Wahoo.  Louise and I won all three games, by the way!  :-)
Playing Wahoo after eating ice cream!
I love having adventures with Jeff.  He is such a positive person and so much fun to be around.  On the way home, we got to stop and eat with my parents!  That was so great too!  And after that we hit a large rain storm, which washed off most of the Midland dirt that was attached to our car!  :)
