Bastrop State Park Outing

Today we spent the day at Bastrop State Park!  It was a really wonderful day with a really really good little boy and a great husband!  A couple years ago there was a devastating fire that burned a lot of the state park, so it was a little bleak, but the green is back and the new trees are starting to grow!  Most of the trees were maybe a foot to two feet tall.  They will need many more years to get back to the way it was, but lots of people were out enjoying it.  This park has a lot to offer-more than any other state park I've been to.  They have a golf course, swimming pool, playground, hiking, biking, and a lake to fish in.  We really enjoyed the cool wind today and even needed an extra shirt on when we first got there.
Enjoy the pictures!
Out of the car and with a stick-one happy boy!

Zane got to sit and eat at the picnic table for the first time!  He's a big boy!

At the playground

Not this exact picture, but today was his first time on the slide!!!!  He loved it!

The stroller wouldn't work on the trail, so Zane hitched a ride on Daddy!

It looks worse than it was in person!  :)

They have nice, new bridges!

These were really pretty purple berries or something.  Does anyone know what they are?

Cool brush that has a bright reddish trunk.

Another nice bridge with a sleeping buddy.

Fall foliage.

Snoozing.

Resting at an overlook.

A different overlook eating  banana-pear bread!

Hi!  I want to touch the camera!

Yum!

:)  Full mouth!
Really happy boy!

Crossing on a log where there wasn't a bridge.

Zane couldn't look at the camera because the dogs he saw were a lot more interesting.  :)

Exploring one last time.

Holding onto Daddy.

I love this picture.
