Thanksgiving, #3!

Yesterday we had our third Thanksgiving with the Harris side of the family.  It was a fun time with delicious food.  It was lots of fun watching Zane.  He definitely liked being the center of attention!  He got to read with everyone, play croquet for the first time, eat, rock, play with toys, and snuggle with Grandma Janie!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving where ever they were and thought about what Thanksgiving is really about!

A Little Big Wheel!

Zane got a surprise in the mail last week from his Uncle Travis.  Not a Christmas present or for Thanksgiving, but a just because present!  He still hasn't gotten the hang of pedaling, but he will soon I hope!  He likes being pushed around and pushing it, and he has turned the box into a slide!

Big Duck

When Zane was a baby, someone gave him a stuffed Big Bird that talks.  I didn't really care for it, neither did Jeff, so we put it in the closet for a long time.  One day I needed a distraction for Zane, so I quickly got it down and gave it to Zane.  He started quacking like a duck at it!  It was so funny!  He doesn't watch tv, so he doesn't know about Sesame Street yet!  So, now it's his "Big Duck". 
Today, he gave it some loveys.  :)

Designated Snuggly Saturday

It is cold here in South Texas, so today we brought out almost all the blankets we have and had a snuggly Saturday!  It was fun!  Jeff did have to leave for just a little bit to help at the church building, but he was back in time for supper. 

Yes, my hair is terrible, but I'd rather have the picture than not!  Zane was so snuggly!!!

Minis!

I recently bought myself a birthday present that I've wished I had for a long time!  A mini-muffin pan!  I love it!!!  I've made mini spinach quiche, whole wheat blueberry donuts, and mini corn muffins!  I can't wait to use it again!

Butternut Squash Spinach Lasagna Rolls

I tried this recipe tonight and we both thought it was delicious!  I can't really speak for the little one.  He ate it, but I don't think it was a favorite.

I used whole wheat lasagna and about half a container of ricotta cheese, and half the spinach.  It made 6 rolls.  It really is a good, healthy recipe.  Give it a try!  The butternut squash seems to give it a little bit of a sweet flavor.  I was also surprised that you could cut it with a fork and it was firm-it didn't fall apart. 

Jeff was gone earlier in the week for two nights.  The reunions are always sweet!

We finally have blooms on our front yard loquat tree!  I am so excited!  I even saw a bee pollinating them!

 Today it was fun watching Zane come out of his little shell just a little more at storytime!  He did a great job and even participated some!
