We are trying to work on sign language.  Some days he seems to do it better than others!  We are currently working on please and thank you.  He can do please sometimes, but hasn't done thank you yet.

Catch up from Last Weekend

It has been over a week since I posted!  I'm hearing some whisperings about that...you know who you are...so this one's for you!  :-)  And I'm kidding, and it has been awhile.  So, without further ado...

CUDDLES!!!  They are the best!!!  I love feeding Zane his bottle because he's so snuggly and I know someone else who does too!

Here Jeff was trying to catch mullet for bait, but caught a redfish instead!  Don't worry, even though the fish was flopping around on the bottom of the boat, it made it safely back in the bay and swam away to live a happy life.

Fresh and clean!
Making Pralines!  These family projects are always interesting!

Story Time!

I took Zane to the library today for toddler story time!  It was fun!  At first, he was uncertain and taking it all in from my lap.  Other kids who had been there before were walking around and singing to the music.  Pretty soon, they did a song and the teacher asked the kids to stand up.  So, I stood up Zane and he just stood right by me.  I sat him back on my lap and pretty soon, he wanted to get up!  He started walking around and tried to participate with the other kids!  He was smiling and having a good time.  It was a little emotional for me because he was moving away from me and becoming a little more independent.  I was wondering if he would come back to me and he always did!  At the end, the teacher passed out some papers and put out a basket with plastic bags of jumbo crayons.  I could not believe it, Zane headed over to the basket to get his crayons!  I went over there and helped him-he picked up the bag and his crayons went all over the floor!  So we picked them up and then went and colored.  I decided it was fun and a big success!  I think we'll go back next week!
Look how far away he was from his Mama!!  Ahh!!  :)

Sorry for the blurry picture!

Coloring!

We checked out four books!

Just Cute

Saturday Jeff washed the car and so we had to go out and support him!  :-)  I love Zane's little chair.  We took it all the way to the Grand Canyon and back and didn't even get it out of the car!  He did really well in it and sat for a long time.  But when he wanted out, I had to help him because it was kind of hard for him since his feet don't touch the ground.  :)
Saturday morning in his new jammies!  They worked great!

:-)  Watching the show!

Really pretty morning in the shade!

Very attentive!
In other news-this outfit is going in the box!  My boy is growing!

Summer Fun

Yesterday we did something different!  We played with the water hose!  Zane absolutely had a great time.  He looked it over pretty good and then when Daddy got out there and started squirting it, he just would walk straight into it!  He had such fun.  :)   We even got out the icees for a cool treat.

Mmm, it's good Mommy!!

Jammie Solution

I found these at walmart today for only $4.98 each!  Its kind of sad...I've looked and looked for pajamas with footies, but I think Zane has graduated from them.  They are not to be found in his size.  We think we know why though.  Since he has started walking, he slips and slides on the tile with them on.  Still though, I love the footies.  :-)

Time for the Retirement

Of these jammies!  Someone is growing!

Vacation Videos

The rope in the last video is something Jeff put up to try and keep Zane away from the road where there were bits of glass.  It worked great!  I think he only got under it once.

Grand Canyon Camping Pictures

We had a great time at the Grand Canyon for our vacation!  Jeff and I were so amazed at the vastness of the Grand Canyon.  It is incredible!  I can't adequately describe it.  It is a mile deep, and ten miles wide.  Huge!  We left our home Friday after Jeff got off work, drove to Fort Stockton.  We got there about 12:30 am and put Zane straight to bed!
Happy traveler dressed in his jammies!

Pretty Texas sky.
Texas sunset.
Handsome driver.
The next day we drove to Gallup, NM.  We stayed at an RV Park in a camping cabin there.  It was really neat and worked out great!  We got to ride our bikes around the park, use their sparkling clean bathrooms, and eat at Cracker Barrel.
Little Buddy sleeping on the way to Gallup.

At USA RV Park with a little explorer!

Outside our camping cabin and having a great time!

First time playing in the rocks.  He loved it and wouldn't look at the camera for a picture! He was too busy!
The next morning we decided to get up at our regular Texas time and drive 2 1/2 hours to go to church in Flagstaff, AZ.  They don't change their time, so they are two hours behind us.  It worked out great!  After church, we ate at a diner and made our way through Ponderosa Pines to the Grand Canyon!

Signs for the Grand Canyon in Flagstaff!!!!
Thanks to the nice lady for taking our picture!

Tried to get a pic of the gas sign.  $4.09, I think!
After we got to the campground, we set up camp and let Zane play!  He had a blast!!!

Oh boy!  Pinecones!

Collecting rocks!

Spreading the tarp

Busy boy getting his footing.

A tent!

My first view of the Grand Canyon.  It was in the evening and was hazy, but still breathtaking.

Cows and calves we saw on the way back to our campsite.
Little Blue Eyes Monday morning.
We got up early Monday morning after a hard night with Zane.  It was chilly too!  The weather really was wonderful though.  It was dry and cool.  Highs during the day were in the 80's and lows probably in the 40's.  It felt so good.  We did a strenuous bike ride from our campground up to Hermit's Rest.

Colorado River.  Looks pretty muddy, doesn't it?

Taking a break.

Hermit's Rest!  We made it!

Playing in the dirt after we got "home."

Face plant!  And just as happy as can be!!!  Probably so happy to get out of the bike trailer!!

Evening sky.

I had so much fun cooking.  I tried out my new Coleman oven and it worked great.  The first thing I baked was cookies and I burned the bottoms.  But, after moving the rack up to the middle, the biscuits turned out great!

Sleepy Boy after a good night's sleep!

So thankful he could sleep!!

Hello little fellow!

See the little guy on the edge of the Grand Canyon?

On the way to the Grand Canyon store to get souvenirs!
We ended up coming home after our time at the Grand Canyon was done instead of going on to Sedona.  Things don't always go as planned with a one year old, but Jeff has convinced me that it was not a disaster!  :)  We did have a great time and we had a good time on our way home too.  We stopped by the Petrified Forest and saw some tree rocks.  We also made a detour through Riudoso, NM and ate lunch.  It is so pretty!

Petrified tree.

Somewhere in the park we lost one of Zane's shoes.  Not here, because he's got them both on!

Awww.

Eating a picnic lunch at the park.

Diaper stop and a blimp baby!!!!!  Wheeee!!!
