Manly Things at the Big Age of 1 and 7/8ths

I am so so lucky that Zane has Jeff as a Dad!  Every kid needs a dad to teach him things and Jeff is so patient and loves teaching Zane.  We got to go over to the new house last week and Jeff took the time to let Zane help him, and teach him some new skills!
That is attentiveness for a 1 and 7/8ths year old.

Love this boy.

Helping Daddy put the screw in the drill bit.

Maybe I need to look too!

Learning to hammer.

Hard workers!

There are many many videos.  I think I'll just post them all!

Zane liked playing with the screws!

More of the same!

And then there is learning how to hammer:

Learning!

Zane got a cool leap frog junior from Uncle T that he has become very interested in playing with.  He knows how to turn it on and off, play with the volume and use it so that it reads aloud.  It didn't take him long to figure out that, at all.  Last night, he and Daddy had a great time with the ABC flashcards.

Thanks, Uncle T, it's a really cool thing and Zane loves it!

Story Time!

I took Zane to the library today for toddler story time!  It was fun!  At first, he was uncertain and taking it all in from my lap.  Other kids who had been there before were walking around and singing to the music.  Pretty soon, they did a song and the teacher asked the kids to stand up.  So, I stood up Zane and he just stood right by me.  I sat him back on my lap and pretty soon, he wanted to get up!  He started walking around and tried to participate with the other kids!  He was smiling and having a good time.  It was a little emotional for me because he was moving away from me and becoming a little more independent.  I was wondering if he would come back to me and he always did!  At the end, the teacher passed out some papers and put out a basket with plastic bags of jumbo crayons.  I could not believe it, Zane headed over to the basket to get his crayons!  I went over there and helped him-he picked up the bag and his crayons went all over the floor!  So we picked them up and then went and colored.  I decided it was fun and a big success!  I think we'll go back next week!
Look how far away he was from his Mama!!  Ahh!!  :)

Sorry for the blurry picture!

Coloring!

We checked out four books!
