Rachel Goes Home!

We had Rachel on Tuesday and we got to go home on Thursday around 11 am!  Jeff and I were both ready and I'm sure Rachel was tired of getting woken up to every so many hours to get her vitals taken.  We got her all dressed up and ready to ride!

She was quite happy in her carseat.

Welcome Home!  Nothing like home sweet home!
I love it and may keep it forever!

Zane was eating a peanut butter and jelly BANANA sandwich!

Love our purple flowers!

New House Update!

Even with a newborn in our family, the show goes on in the new house.  The kitchen cabinets are pretty much installed as is the granite counter tops!  Jeff was soooooo nice and carted me over there this afternoon to see it.  Here are a few pictures I took.

Bar and sink countertop

Pretty vein going through the granite.

I really like the rounded corners on the bar.  The backsplash between the bottom counter and the bar needs to be installed still.

I should have closed the cabinets when taking the picture, but hopefully you get the idea of the painted cabinets.

Pretty sink!

Jeff and John did the window stools all by themselves!  They look so good!

After the tour of the house, I got to go in the workshop aka garage!  Jeff has his toys, I mean tools, all set up for easy access and use!
This is his router table.  It made the edges of the window stools rounded.

This is his compound miter saw.  It has come in very handy with his house projects.

And his new table saw that has already been put to use.  The first time he came home after getting it, he made sure to show me he still had all ten fingers.  I was very glad to see that!  :)

This weekend John came to help which has been so great.  Thanks for coming to help, John!  We really appreciate it!
And Jeff, thanks for taking me to see 'new house!'  I had a great time and you are doing an outstanding job!

Rachel Meets the Family

Rachel got to meet both sets of grandparents within a few hours of her delivery.  She also got to meet her awesome big brother!
Zane keeping an eye on Rachel.
Zane was pretty uncertain when he came up to the hospital room to meet Rachel.  I can understand that for sure.  It was a different place with many different things to look at.  He opened up pretty quickly to her.  He said, "Push button!"  And tried to push her tummy like she was a little doll!  It was so funny.

Getting kisses from Zane.

Grandada, Zane, Grandma Janie, and Rachel

They talked about her eyes, nose, ears, etc.

Grandma D with sweet Rachel!

I like this picture alot.

Grandma D, Rachel, and Opa D.

Thankful both sets of Grandparents could come.  Thank you!
Lots of people have asked how Zane is doing with Rachel.  I think he's doing really good.  He needs lots of attention, but really he always needed that.  Sometimes he is interested in her and other times he doesn't want to kiss or say hi to her.  He really looks at her when she cries and then when she quits he says, "Baby Rachel nice."  :)  He also commented to his grandparents in the hospital hallway that "Baby Rachel small."  He is doing a great job as a big brother.  We are all adjusting just like him!  :)

Introducing Rachel Dakota!

Our second pride and joy, Rachel Dakota, was born August 26, 2014 at 7:55 am weighing 7 lbs. 11 oz., and measuring 18 1/2 inches long.  She is so healthy, is a great eater and we couldn't be happier.

Getting swaddled by the baby expert aka Daddy.  He does it the best.

Fresh kisses.

Finally getting to hold my bundle that I worked so hard for!

Getting wiped off.

Well, it was a shock.  :)
