Granddad's Great Gobbler Hunt

I had to feature this great video of a great shot made by my father-in-law!

Congratulations, John!

18 Weeks!

What a beautiful day it is today.  Zane and I have been outside several times enjoying it.  This morning, we went outside in the backyard and watered our plants, filled the birdbath, and pulled some weeds.  Then, the biggest event of a Monday-we heard the trash truck!  So we hurried to the front yard and sat down to watch.  :)  Our neighbor's trash had leaves in it that weren't bagged and when the truck was putting it down, more leaves fell out and made a mess on the street!  So, much to Zane's happiness, the trash man had to get down and pick up the rest of the mess, and do it all over!  Then, he came over and said hi to Zane!  I think Zane might have been in awe!

Sipping from a straw like a big boy.

It's neat to see the leaves coming out.

Trying on daddy's flipflops.
I thought my gold star esperanza and hibiscus had had it after all the frosts, but after I cut down all the limbs and was trying to get the esperanza root out, I found a little green shoot coming up from the root!  It was still in the mulch.  The same thing with the hibiscus!  So they got a good watering.  I'm really excited!
Evidence of life!  Very small evidence...

Very happy to see it coming back!
This picture was taken yesterday.

Reading with Grandma D

I think I mentioned that Zane could "read" some parts of a book (he actually has them memorized), but I didn't realize how much he knew.  Grandma D read quite a bit with him and would almost always stop before the end of the phrase and Zane would, to my surprise, fill in the end.  I couldn't believe it.  It is just so neat to him growing and learning.
Enjoy these reading videos!

Just Something Special About Grans

We have been enjoying a week with Grandma D and this weekend will be enjoying Grandma Janie and Granddad.  I was a little concerned, although I have no idea why, that Zane would get confused with two grandmas.  Both are called Grandma, so I thought he wouldn't understand why one was here, but she didn't look like the one who just left.  Well, he loves them both and doesn't seem to be confused!  He's just happy they are here and loving on him.

I think their favorite activity might be reading.

Reading with Grandma D.  Videos to come one another post.

Playing with Zane's Junior Leap Frog.

Modeling his new lounge pants that Grandma D made him!!!  It was so cute.  They have construction equipment on them and he loves them.  I put them on and he'd pull at them trying to look at them and he danced around in his pants for Daddy!  He also has a pillow that she made out of the extra fabric.  Thanks Grandma D!

It's Spring!

This week has just flown by.  Already Thursday and with tomorrow being Friday, I'll take it!

Yesterday I went to a doctor's appointment for Ziggy.  Dr. G. said that everything looked great.  The heartbeat sounded wonderful as always, and she also heard movement.  I should be feeling movement within the next few weeks and I'm excited about that.  I've had some pain in my stomach and she said that could be due to scar tissue from the previous surgery.  That was good to know.  Four more weeks until we find out if it's a girl or a boy!

Today, Zane and I went to our monthly Young Mother's Luncheon with other women at church.  I had a good visit with the other moms and ate some delicious food.  It's always fun to chit-chat with them.
Little bird's nests I made.  They didn't turn out-they were gooey.  But, I have the leftovers in the freezer and that should do the trick!  Oooooh, and Jeff doesn't like oatmeal so I get them ALL!  Well, I might share if someone comes to visit.  And maybe with Zane.  Alright, alright, I'll share!  :)

Cute kids.
Zane is getting in his eye teeth!  Just last night, I looked and both sides had very sharp teeth just starting to poke out of the gums.  He's also starting to try and say two syllable words or else try to group words that go together.  Like mow, grass.

He is still fascinated with lawnmowers, blowers, trucks, motorcycles, anything loud.  I got a video of him blowing out the house.  Enjoy!

Here are my two favorite boys.

Brown eyes and blue eyes.

Introducing...

Our new waffle maker!!!!!!!!!
It's a beauty!

I experiemented with Zane's whole wheat waffles, and I think they turned out pretty good!

Most of time Sunday nights we have breakfast after evening church services, so this week we tried out the new waffle maker on our regular waffles.  Aside from making a mess the first time, they were so easy and WONDERFUL!!!!!  I must say I was very reluctant to switch from regular waffles to belgian waffles, but they are soooo much better!  Wow!

So, if you come and see us, you may get to have a yummy, yummy waffle!

16 Weeks!

Tomorrow I will be 16 weeks pregnant!  And I am back among the living, thanks to my special mother-in-law Janie!  Last week I was feeling terrible, hence the silence on the blog, so she came and stayed for almost a week and I rested.  I feel about 100% better, so I am very grateful to her for helping out with Zane and breakfast/lunch/suppers.

Almost 16 weeks!
This one is for my Mom.  I lengthened two dresses and this is one of them.

Outing to Palacios

On Saturday we took a drive to Palacios, the City by the Sea.  It was nice!  Zane and I had been there before, but this time, Jeff went with us.  I'm sure he's been there many times before.  We ate at a great Dairy Queen there and walked along the seawall.

I learned something about feeding seagulls.  You don't want to throw the crackers up over your head.  It's like attack of the seagulls.

So Long Waffle Maker!

We had a good run with our awesome waffle maker, until this morning.  It was really scary business.  I had just poured some waffle batter into the iron and I heard a zzzzz, pop!  I looked and the back was ON FIRE!  It was so scary!  I unplugged it and blew.  The fire went out, thankfully.  So we are now in the market for a brand new waffle maker.  We do not want another fire hazard in our kitchen!  We also thought that a fire extinguisher was under the kitchen sink, but it isn't!   We might need to get one of those too.
So long waffle maker.

Little Waffle Eater!  He loves his waffles.

Our Friday

Zane started off the day with two scrambled eggs and ketchup.  He has a hard time waiting in the mornings for his breakfast, so this morning, I put him on the counter so he could watch his eggs cook.  He thought it was great.

This afternoon, we went to a park that had baby swings!  I have been wanting Zane to be able to swing for some time, but most of the parks just have regular swings.  This park was really neat and was mostly designed for toddlers.  Most of the kids there were around Zane's age or a little older.  I think Zane liked it a lot.
