11 Months!!

Zane is 11 months old today!  I had a great time trying to get a clear picture of him because he is just moving constantly.  He isn't walking yet, but he does a great job of standing and crawling!  He must have more teeth coming in because he was constantly putting things in his mouth and chewing away.  It looks like it might be more on the top. 
I am happy at the stage he's at right now.  He is a jOy!  I love him so much!

Hi Mom

My beautiful, 11 Month old, blue-eyed boy.

Zane started holding his bottle yesterday!  He's been drinking out of a bottle for maybe a couple weeks.  I can't remember exactly when I started but he's started drinking some whole milk!  I tried to get him to drink out of a sippy cup, but he did not care for that at all, but he does take his bottle!  So, bottle it is.  Anyway, he started holding it yesterday and it was so cute, because he even took it out of his mouth and then tried to put it back in!  He did get it back in, but also got spots of milk all over his face as he tried to get it back in!

He just started holding it all of the sudden!  I must have not been holding it right.  :)

Poor Little Zane-o

Before you read further-don't worry, Zane's fine!!!  Zane didn't make it to a year old before he had his first accident that involved blood.  Mama was worried, but his Daddy did a great job consoling him and helping me do the right thing.  He fell and hit mouth on the edge of the couch (without the cushion on) and his tooth cut his lip.  It was hard to see blood on his mouth, but he's really fine and he calmed down pretty quickly.

Haircut!

Zane has gotten many haircuts before, but today was the first time I used the angle guard on the clippers!  It was just getting so long over his ears and it needed to be fixed.  :-)  I set him up on our bathroom counter and he watched himself in the mirror while I buzzed!  It worked great!  Here are some pictures.  I have no idea if you will be able to tell or not, but I can and think it made a difference.

Amen?

For the second night in a row, we are pretty sure that Zane said 'Amen' at the end of our devotional time.  We always say a prayer and I say 'Amen' after Jeff does and yesterday when Zane said "ay-ya" we just looked at each other really startled because it was in the perfect place, two syllables, and really sounded like 'Amen'!  When it happened again tonight, we decided he really might be saying it!


P.S.  Zane now has four teeth!  I like hearing his bottom teeth clicking on a glass as he tries to drink ice water.  :-)

Some Family Time!

It was a great Saturday!  We ended the afternoon with disc golf at a park we recently discovered.  It is only a 9 basket course, and actually we couldn't find the start to basket 7, but it was still a great time.  The wind was nice so it kept the bugs off us.

Grandma's Visit

Oh, it was wonderful to have my mom come for a belated Mother's Day together.  She stayed two nights and we had a great time.  I think Zane took to her really well and loved waving and waving at her!  He would also go up to her when she was sitting on the couch and pull up again and again!

My First Mother's Day

 

I had the best first mother's day.  We went to Jeff's mom for Mother's Day, which is always always always a treat and Jeff and Zane got me a beautiful card and Janie and John did also!  Also, Jeff and John made hamburgers for us after church!  It was a wonderful and thoughtful day!  I am so happy that Zane made me a mother! 

Baby Steps

Zane News!

Zane has a top tooth that poked through!!!  He has been dripping with drool so I figured I'd check and sure enough, there it was!  A beautiful front tooth!  The one next to it looks like it could poke through any time!

Also, in Bible class yesterday, he participated by putting the little bird back in the nest, and by "nodding" the flowers!  (It goes with a song they sing.)  I was really proud of him.  I think it's so exciting when he does something new.  Just as I was sitting here uploading pictures from my phone, he stood up against the window sill, which isn't new, but he then moved a couple steps to the couch!  It was so neat!

I think he's grown taller too.  He's got long legs and a long torso.  I probably couldn't measure him though even if I tried.  He is on the move constantly.  :)

City by the Sea

Zane and I went to Palacios today while Jeff went fishing!  We got to walk a long the seawall, visit a really cool antique/resale shop, and the best part of the day was getting to visit my father-in-law, and Zane's granddad.  I hadn't planned it and sometimes those are the best kind of meetings!  We got to Palacios, I got a return phone call from John, so we drove to Matagorda, and ate at a restaurant in the harbor.  I ate, Zane didn't eat-he was too busy with the table next to us and having a good time to eat!  Then, we went back to Palacios, walked, looked around and then it was time to leave.  It is a really neat little town.
