Goliad State Park

Today my family and I went day camping!  We've talked about going tent camping, but when it comes down to it, I chicken out.  So, today we packed up and spent a lot of the day down the road in Goliad State Park.  It was great!  I thought they would be busy, but they weren't at all.  The park rangers were so friendly and the hiking paths and picnic area were great!  We had a great time cooking hamburgers, watching Zane, and throwing the frisbee.  I also got to learn a lot about Texas history.  Goliad had the largest number of people killed for the cause of Texas Independence, hence the famous phrase, "Remember Goliad! Remember the Alamo!"
Cool tree that I saw while Jeff was checking in.  It had cactus growing on it.

Mission Espiritu Santo

Served the people for 110 years.

Getting ready to see the Mission.

Rock wall surrounding the Mission.
Inside.

I didn't take many closeups because the statues were pretty scary looking.

On the hiking trail.

Carrying Zane up some stairs.  Jeff carried the stroller.

Pretty trail!
