Four Weeks Old

Little Rachel Dakota is four weeks old today!  She is as pretty as can be and still a pretty easy baby although it is taking longer to put her back to sleep during the night.  She is definitely staying awake longer throughout the day.  She still has her pretty dark hair and her blue eyes.  I was looking at Zane's and they are slightly darker than his but definitely still blue.  As to eating, sometimes she eats like a bird and sometimes she goes to town.  She also likes her pacifier.

Today we went for a walk to the mailbox to start out, but it was so nice that we made it a walk around the block.  Rachel snoozed in her carrier and Zane held on tight to my hand.  It was really enjoyable, but we decided that next time we will wear tennis shoes instead of sandels and flipflops.

Before Rachel was born, Zane usually just got his thumb when he came to me and now he does the same with Rachel!  So sweet!

Grins!

This morning after Zane had his breakfast, I played a tickle game with him and got the first grins!  It wasn't just one grin, it was a bunch!  Every time I ran my fingers up his ribs and tickled his chin, I got a grin!  I hope it continues.  It was so much fun to see him responding.  He also is really looking around and keeping his head up when he is getting burped!

Jeff weighed him on Friday when he turned 4 weeks old and he weighed 10 pounds, 9 ounces!  I'm so happy he's growing!

Zane also did great at church yesterday.  I am always relieved when he is easily pacified there and goes to sleep.  One nice lady last night said he was such a good baby...I said, well, one of these days you'll say, "Oh, that's what he sounds like!"  :-)  I know the day is coming, but until then, I guess we'll enjoy these kind of Sundays!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Love,
Amy

4 Weeks Old!

He's a Walmart Shopper!

This snoozing lasted about halfway though the trip, then he had to be carried.  That was interesting!  Thank you to the wal-mart employee who helped me unload my cart at the checkout!
