Last night I decided to lay Rachel on her tummy while I was playing on the floor with Zane.  I've been a little nervous about that because I need to watch what's going on all the time, but I decided I should do it and get Zane used to it.  Well, it was perfect!  He gave her lots of good attention which was so nice.

 I've been thinking.  On my blog, all these pictures make it all look like everything is just going smoothly and we are always smiling.  That's actually not the case!  I've am so grateful for two wonderful grandmas that have come and taken care of us.  They have been so helpful and wonderful and have made this transition easier for us.  Zane has also been doing pretty good, but if you could say a prayer for him, that would be so nice.  He is so sweet to Rachel, but is also jealous of the attention that is taken away from him.  It is an adjustment for all for sure!  And I am overwhelmed about how to take care of two kids!  I know it will be just fine though and I'll get the hang of it.  Jeff is going back to work soon and starts off with an out of town job, so I'll get the practice I need in of taking care of them all by myself!  Wish me luck and if you hear crying, just hand us all a tissue.  :)

First Tummy Time

Today  Rachel had her first tummy time!  It was so cute to watch her wiggle around.  It looked like she was trying to get her legs under her.  I also was reminded that I set up books for Zane to look at, so I did the same for her.  She really looked intently at it.

We went to her two week well check yesterday and she did great!!!  She didn't cry at all.  I thought she needed to get some shots, but nope!  That's at the 2 month well check.  She has gained weight and has passed her birth weight!  I was so relieved and proud.  She has also grown an inch!  She weighs 7 lbs. 15 oz. and is 19 1/2 inches long.  She is quite the big girl!  :)

Two Weeks Old

Little Rachel is two weeks old today!  She is a precious bundle that we love so much!!  She is such an easy baby most of the time, but she is also a fighter!  She fights the pacifier, fights her blanket and then gets content.  :)  It's pretty sweet.  She eats every 2 to 3 hours, but sometimes goes longer, which is nice!  Tomorrow I take her to the doctor and I can't wait to find out her weight.  :)

Zane is his usual handsome self.  He had a banner day today because we were coming back from running two errands and barely made it in the garage before the pavers oiled our road.  He got to watch the show up close with Grandma D.  It might have been a little close to those big trucks so they had to retreat into the garage a little, but that is all he's talked about.
