September
September flew by just like the rest of the months. It turned fall a few days ago, but doesn't feel like it just yet. Maybe soon. The kids are doing so well in school. Both kids brought home their progress reports and wow, they did great. Rachel earned E's in everything! She was so pleased. We went to Sam's and had pizza to celebrate! (Rachel's idea to celebrate, Zane's idea for Sam's.) I am volunteering at the school library and am happy whenever I get to see the kids at school. And what makes me feel good is seeing them being happy at school. One time all three of us were in the hall at the same time and had a group hug! It was awesome!
I had to pull up my zinnias. Even though they were still blooming, they looked really ratty. I was quite pleased that I was able to make one trip with the wagon! haha
Since Rachey can read, she pretty much reads everything. And she read that she could join the HEBuddy summer reading club and get a free t-shirt so she, of course, wanted to! She read her ten books, and I sent it in. HEB is a smart company, getting to the young ones at this age. :)
So proud of her t-shirt. And she wanted to wear it to a friend's birthday party!
Homework is a woe at our house. I thought Rachel might like having it, but from day one she didn't. So I try to make it as fun as possible with chocolate milk and then I have to set the timer and they try to beat the timer. And I secretly hope that they don't have too much that I have to endure. hahahahahaha
Zane is doing great in Spelling. I think on his progress report it was a 99!
Sup, sup, sup! :)
Everyone has to rest sometime!
On Friday's Rachel gets to choose from the treasure box with her tokens. She started bringing home hatchimals. I thought you had to put them in water, but turns out you just have to press a heart for a while until your body heat softens it and you can break the shell.
Came outside while I did the chickens. Always digging. I think it's an army base right now.
Having fun at Cooper's birthday party. They had it at the Children's Discovery museum which was great!
Lost a front tooth!! It came out when he took off his shirt.
Rediscovered the toddler bible. This was after school one day. We had a lice scare at school so everyday I looked for lice and gave them a bath. I haven't found any so far!
Playing church after school. Didn't matter if she knew the song or not, her heart was in it!
Found her reading in bed one morning!!!
They have opened a zinnia shop! Bring your pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters! :)
They even displayed them "like Lowe's".
My passion vine is doing great!
Chickies are doing great!
Rachey is doing great!
So happy to have my baker back in the kitchen!
We went to Leakey this past weekend and it was so much fun! I took a lot of pictures this time.
It gets dark earlier! This is on the way on Friday.
Sticks are guns.
In their fort.
Rachel took this picture. :)
Hiking with Daddy.
Shooting of course.
Relaxing with Mommy. Rachel took this picture.
Hi Monkey.
I like this picture.
Daddy is up at the time of the skyline somewhere!
Playing with tools.
Getting a lesson in conduit I think?
Lesson with the heat gun.
Spraying brush!
There he goes!
Cute little green frog!
With the green frog!
Found these cool seeds in a big seed pod. We still don't know what they are.
Rachel spilled corn on the driveway. The deer didn't mind.
Sunrise!
Sunday afternoon hike to a place we hadn't been.
Oops! Back to the sunrise. The deer were there early.
King of the mountain!
Picking walnuts! They were ripe and we got to eat some. Really tiny pieces of meat. Natives for sure!
Jeff really like the cracks in this rock so I took their picture on it!
