Feathers and Scales

The kids and I went to Aransas National Wildlife Refuge today and had a very cold but good time!  We learned about birds of prey and got to see a Harris hawk, great horned owl, black vulture, falcon and condor!  Totally cool!  And brrr because it was really so cold.  I asked the kids as we are a picnic in the back of our suburban if they wanted to stay or go because of the cold and they both wanted to stay.  So then we learned about the Texas rat snake, garter snake, speckled king snake and the venomous southern copperhead.  And we also got to see a baby alligator and an older but still young alligator.  None of us cared to touch them.  :)

The kids did great and it was another successful experience.
Brrr!
