Friday Fun Day!

We have been studying gardens this week so where else to go on a field trip but to the Victoria Educational Gardens! We had such a great visit and the kids enjoyed it. This was the first time we've been so late in the year. Usually we go around April, but right now the plants are huge and blooming and it was beautiful! We saw bumble bees pollinating flowers, and butterflies getting nectar, and we also saw a caterpiller. Zane got a great picture of it. I took some pictures and Zane also took some pictures which I will post below.

This time they had fun opening the mailboxes and getting information out of them. One in particular is going to be especially helpful to me! It's a direct seeding chart for fall and spring for all different vegetables for our specific area!

Enjoy the pictures! Of course, it's much prettier in person!

They love this fountain!
Cheese!
We were the only ones there and they just would take off and explore.  That was fun.  It was nice that they were old enough to show interest in it all!
I wish this one would show what I saw in person.  It's a beauty bush.  So gorgeous.  We actually have some at the back of our yard, but they don't grow big.  I may try to dig some up!
In front of the beauty bush.  Can't you tell how pretty it is?  haha-but the kids are so cute!!!
In the butterfly garden!  The next few are Zane's pictures!

Well, this one is mine, it was so pretty!
A rock that was painted and caught their attention!
Part of a big water timer that Zane really liked!
So pretty!
Maybe called a pipe flower vine?  Was really cool.
They loved this little house!
There were several mailboxes that they got to open.  Of course, they loved it!
Turtle face!
Hi Rachey!  I showed them these pictures and she was so tickled at this one!
Next week we will be studying apples!  Anyone have a suggestion on where to see an apple tree?  :)  I haven't found any around here but would love to take the kids to see one!
