Pie Blog Post

I've actually been very unenthusiastic about making pies lately.  That is, until last weekend when I  got out a new to me cookbook that I got from my favorite mother-in-law a while back.  It has all sorts of new recipes in it! 

The first try was a Fluffy Chocolate Pie.  It was supposed to be cloud-like, and like a chocolate chiffon pie.  Well, it ended up being a pie-flop!  It was definitely cloud-like, but we decided we didn't like cloud texture!  So, we froze it.  It was slightly better, but still pretty bad.  So, down the disposal it went.  I mean, why eat something you don't like?!  It did look really pretty though.

 

Looks pretty, right?  Blahhhhhhhhh.....!!!

I gotta confess that I ate the drizzled chocolate off the top before it went down the sink. hahahahaha!

So, second try at a pie out of this new cookbook...Apple Pie in Cheddar Crust!

This pie was good-Jeff said he could taste the cheddar, but I didn't taste it that much.  I've never had cheddar with apple pie, so I didn't know what to expect, but it was good.
