I probably need to get out more than Zane because I was slightly nervous about there being so many people, some men, but I realized that people were there as a family. You hear so many stories of children disappearing that it got to me a little bit, so I made sure I kept an eye on Zane. He eventually started playing with a group of kids which was really neat to see. There was a "ticket counter" made in the playground equipment and so kids were coming up and ordering and the kids behind the counter would fill the order and the other kids would pay them money, aka, gravel. Zane was behind the counter and busy putting gravel on the counter. It was fun to watch and the kids seemed to be really nice. One was an older girl that came up to Rachel and said that she had really "bright eyes!" She really liked the blue and then I heard her by Zane saying the same thing-"oooh, he has blue eyes too!" Maybe she doesn't see many blue eyed children in her class. She was really nice. I liked how the kids could play with the gravel and pretend so much. It was neat.

Digging in the gravel. He would find a sucker stick (found 2) and would put it up on the pavement. Gross! |
Glad I brought the monkey-she needed something to chew on. |
