Library Day!

Zane and I went to the library today and he participated!!!!  I was so excited to see this because he's usually so timid and keeps an eye on what everyone is doing.  :)  He did great though!  He didn't even want to color because he wanted to know where Miss Vonn (Yvonne) was.  It was a great morning!
Front and center!

And he went up to stand with Miss Yvonne by himself!

He was all tuckered out after our big morning!

22 Weeks Today, 22 Months Tomorrow!

Today I am 22 weeks along with our baby girl!  I am still amazed it's a GIRL!  It just seems rather weird!  But, I'll take her!  :)  The second trimester is sooo much easier than the first.  I feel so good.  I have however started to have leg cramps at night.  Before this morning, I could stop them when I felt them coming, but not this morning!  There was much hollering going on about 5:30 am.  It hurt SO BAD!  I remember having them with Zane too.  Not fun!

Tomorrow, Zane will be 22 months old!  Only 2 more months until he is in his terrific twos!!!  I took a picture of him this morning while he was sleeping.  He was sleeping so soundly and looked so big!  This year has just flown by, much faster than his first year.

Look at that big boy!  I think he could climb out of his crib if he wanted too, but please, don't give him any ideas.  :)

"What do you think, Zane?"  "Is that a good spot?"-Dad.  "I think it looks good."-Zane.
My parents joined us this weekend for a gospel meeting and it was fabulous to see them.  Zane just snuggled right up to them!  Thanks Mom and Dad for coming!

Hug, hug!  :)
Reading with Opa.
Today while we were at the house, we saw a tree lizard.  I'm trying to tell myself that they are my friends because they eat bugs!  I am all for bugs being gone, so they are my friends, they are my friends!  ;)

Demolition Weekend!

What a busy weekend Jeff had!  He did great!  We had a change of plans and decided not to save the old cabinets, so they had to go!  After much banging and hard labor, it was out and in an impressive heap out the back door!  He also took down the walls that were around the "laundry room" in the kitchen!  The space looks so much larger!  He did a great job!
Here are some pictures of the progress:
Cabinet doors off!

Yucky dishwasher OUT!

And let the smashing begin!

Apparently that all came down at once and Jeff had to jump out of the way!

The walls around the laundry room.

Making progress.

Isn't that great?!

Zane and I weeded in the flower bed and watched the lawnmower and little trailer haul stuff to the barn to the trash heap.  He loved watching it of course.

Pretty, pretty rose

I decided to thin some daylilies.

Demolition continues

Jeff worked so hard yesterday in finishing scraping the linoleum off in the sunroom!  It looks awesome!  Minor setback though-it isn't level.  So, the plan is to put some self leveling concrete (or cement?) on it.  I think it sounds really cool.  And hopefully it will work beautifully!

I got some weeding done and I can see how removing the leaves and weeds around the house will help with the bugs.  There were lots and lots of bugs, especially crickets!  I'm excited though because I think the leaves have been there so long that some might have decomposed leaving a nice soil behind.  I didn't get all around the house by any means because it turned out to be a very hot day.  Zane got really hot, I'm afraid and didn't want to drink water, so we came home early, drank out of a straw, which he loves, and had a bath.  Then we headed to Lowes after a supper of the best lasagna ever (reheated), and looked at cabinets because turns out, I'm going to get new cabinets!

Scraping with a power tool! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-it was so loud!

My helper digging up Wandering Jew plants.

Well done Jeffy!

Floor accomplished-then he started taking off the paneling and found that the person who did it put tar paper underneath it. Nice.

I'm feeling better, Mommom!
Mmmm, this is good water.

New House

Last Thursday, we closed on a new house.  I say new house, it's really not!  Someone recently told me that every couple gets a fixer upper at least once, and we now have ours.  We've been looking for a larger house since we have a baby coming and Jeff has an office at home and one with a larger yard for the kids.  I think our dreams have come true with this jewel.  It needs a lot of work and I'm hoping this morning that when I go, there will be lots of dead roaches and crickets, but it's exciting.  The flower bed around the house has been neglected for many years, so my talented mother in law has pruned the roses and cleaned out some, and today I'm going to try to clear out the rest of the dead leaves and weeds.  And hope that helps with the little critters that are coming in.  Funny thing happened yesterday.  I was trying to scrap linoleum off the floor in the sunroom, which is going to turn into Jeff's office, and Zane was on a Big Wheel and all of the sudden he got all excited and started pointed and saying, "Ant, ant!"  He was way across the room and how in the world could he see an ant?  I looked, but didn't see anything, but figured something was there because he was quite animated!  Sure enough along came a huge roach-about 2 inches long!  haha!  It was so funny.  We finally got it out the door and it's no longer with us.  I think I'll keep Zane around for "Ant patrol!"

I wish I knew how to put pictures side by side for comparison...can anyone leave a comment to help me out?  I'd like to post some before and after pictures of the house for you to see.  Maybe if someone can help, I'll post some now and then again later.

These are a couple pictures taken before it was cleared out and we closed.
