Our Special Summer! June

We started off the summer with a vacation to Colorado and then settled back in to normal life without school.  The kids played played played, went from Star Wars fanatics to WWII learners (Zane only-Rachel participates, but she can only take so much of WWII documentaries.) and we just had fun.

Reading!  Both wanted a nest.  I don't make them as good as Daddy!  :)

One of my goals I tried to do was encourage the kids to cook with me.  Rachel was more interested than Zane, but we did make drop biscuits-one of his very favorites.

Our Pride of Barbados plant finally started blooming!!!!  I was so surprised!

This girl almost always says yes to baking and cooking.

Doctoring Daddy!!!  One time he had to have casts on both arms!  Whew!

It's fun going through photos and adding them to the blog.  I need to do this more often! 

More school work!  He's going to be more than ready for 2nd grade!

We had a great time enjoying the scenery in Leakey!
