Vacation Time!!! Days 1 and 2

We left on our two week trip to Colorado!  We left one day early and had an extra day for spending it in Leakey!
Headphones and videos is the only way to travel.  It was so nice.  So relaxing.  Just bliss-for everyone!
Yesssssss, we are off!

Cool kids!

Hard to do a spiral-graph AND watch Max and Ruby.  Max and Ruby won.

Frio River is busy and very low!

We have had a fun and relaxing time here!  We went to worship this morning, but it was canceled this afternoon so we watched a rain storm and then took a ranger ride in the cooler temps!

Saturday, Rachel, Zane and I went up to the spring to look around and we got our feet wet in the cold water.  It felt so good.  It was pretty hot and we didn't stay too long.  The rest of the afternoon, I read cookbooks, Jeff relaxed, the kids played, and then they talked Dad into building a fort and a rocket.  The rocket turned out better than the fort because it didn't collapse! In the late afternoon, the kids fed the deer and one old gal came right on up, but it must have been too hot or we were too noisy because she found some shade and laid down.  The corn was all gone in the morning.  We also rode bikes up and down the gravel road which was a new experience for the kids.  There were some scrapes but I think we made out pretty good considering.

I have lots of freckles.  Oh my.

Feeding the deer.

Pretty gal.

Pretty girl.

Mom's pretty Pride of Barbados.
Sunset on my walk Saturday night.

On Sunday, we had a great day as well!  We woke up and went to Bible class and worship.  The kids could be heard in the auditorium singing their hearts out in Bible class.  And we got to hear about it at lunch.  They thought "arky arky song" was hilarious.  :)  And the lesson was really good on Daniel.  Services were canceled tonight due to small numbers so we enjoyed a rain storm and took a ranger ride up in way in the cooler temps.  The kids are starting rock collections.  Their bags are going to be sooo full!

You'd think we'd never seen a rain storm before.  :)

This deer wanted some corn so badly, but we were making too much noise so she laid down to wait.

Moved the cars for a shaded and smooth place to ride.  Worked great.

I love my blue eyed children!

Zane's eyes just shone for some reason at a meal today.

My sweetie!!!

They made a huge splash.

Rachey wanted five rocks, so he did five!

Rachey's always happier with a snack.

Pictures this morning of some sheep, except you can only see one and his head is down!  It's above the date.

There were probably 4 or five and one with a baby.  Neat to see.
Zane and Rachel's happiest moments yesterday and today:  riding bikes with daddy and doing "turtle boost!" instead of turbo boost!
-Dada throwing rocks into the little lake.
-Running around in the rain.
-Going speedy fast in the Ranger with Daddy driving.
-Bible class!  They stayed by themselves and had a marvelous time.

July Flew By!

I missed our July completely!  It started off with two weeks of swimming lessons!  Every morning, Rachel's lesson was at 8:30 am-9:10am, then Zane's was at 10:10 am-11.  We were gone all morning during those two weeks!  The first day we stayed between lessons, but the rest of the time we ran around town doing various things.  On the last day we went to a park right by the instructor's house!  I wish we had done that before but I didn't realize it was so close!

Boy, the kids were so brave.  I've never been a swimmer and can hardly put my face in the water.  Every day they had to do this and it was really hard for them.  But both of them did it anyways.  It was pretty stress filled for us in the mornings because like I said, it was hard.  We celebrated being done with lessons with pizza with dada and every day (well, probably for more than a week) we got donuts after every lesson because they were so brave and gave me smiles.  I'm sure next summer will be easier!  I got some good pictures and good videos of them.

Swimming brings on an appetite.  So glad for strawberries and grapes.

Zane with his class.

Waiting for his turn!

Mouth full of something, waiting for Zane to be all done.

Happy with her new goggles.
