Pictures!

Ready for bed one recent evening!

At her two year well check!  She weighed 25 pounds, 2 ounces (28%), is 34 1/2 inches tall (66%), and had a head circumference of 19 inches (70%).  I thought she was chubby, but turns out she's not!  Grandada pronounced her "terrific" and I agree!  She is very healthy!  She still doesn't have her two year molars in, which might explain why she doesn't care for meat too much!

Quarter, dime, nickel, penny sorting.  He loves money.  Mostly to grapple it.  :)  haha

They needed to be by Mommy while I cooked and brought books in on their own.  :)

More snuggles for daddy!

Yeah, he's pretty happy!

Little flower in the grass.  It's pretty.

Sunday night after worship.  Pretty great kids!

Watching Blippe before bed because they were good.

Singing together before bed.  Nighttime tradition most nights.

I asked them to hug so I could get a picture.  Zane said sure, Rachel said no-this is a one sided hug.

Making a flower garden.

Working on her numbers 1-5.

Adding flowers.

Sunflowers are finally blooming!

Pretty morning outside.

Rose bush is blooming!

Pretty blooming plant.

Big moment.  About to eat fish as a whole family.  All but Rachel was a fan.  And she gets to try it again tonight!  Maybe she won't remember last night.  hahahahaha, yeah right.

Wanted to hold Daddy's hands!  Had to take a picture because this isn't happening often anymore!

More Learning Going On!

This week has certainly been a learning experience for us all!  We are having a great time learning the letter X, about magnets, fractions, and shapes.  We have read some new books, visited the library, and have another day of learning in store for us tomorrow!  Maybe on Friday we can think of some place to visit for a field trip, or maybe we'll just stay home and play.  Whew!

Letter X!  Rachel wasn't sure about it, but she warmed up.

Magnet exploration in the barn, a treasure trove of things that attract a magnet!

Daddy loves his little girl!

Ox, box, fox!

I am definitely learning that two year olds and 4 year olds cannot do the same thing.  haha

Ice cream making, take two!  We had a friend over today and we finished making ice cream in a bag, but as I went to put Zane's in a bowl, I dropped it on the granite and it shattered.  Poor Zane didn't get to eat his ice cream because I was afraid shards had gotten in it.  But we got to make it and eat it when Rachel got up.

Daddy was invited to eat, but unfortunately I hadn't learned that I needed to rinse the bag before I emptied it.  Salt and ice cream makes this face!!!  Oops number 2 today!!!!!
So long til next time!

Big Helper

Someone decided that the bottom of the couch needed vacuuming! Which it did! Why, oh why, can't that be a real vacuum?!  Hahahah

Fresh Eggs

A couple of weeks ago we were lucky to get some fresh eggs!  They are pretty!  And the first one I cracked was a double yolker!  So neat.  Jeff said they made great tasting scrambled eggs too!  Thanks Mom and Dad!

Park time, Picnic Time

We met some friends the park last Friday since Daddy had to work.  It was hot, but the kids had lots of fun.  Rachel's favorite was the rocks, and Zane was all over.  I think he liked having a friend to play with!

We've had lots of rain recently and these flowers have been popping up in the yard.  I read somewhere they are called Copper Rain Lilies.  They are so pretty.

Getting some reading in on Saturday before Daddy left for work.  Rachel is really getting into books, which makes me happy!  And she definitely has her favorites!
We got to go visit some great new friends on Saturday and when we came home it was close to lunch time but I was sad that the kids hadn't had time to play outside.  So, I made a quick picnic and we went out to eat in the heat.  And it was hot.  I put the umbrella up in the treehouse, but it didn't really help because there was no breeze.  So, we moved to the concrete in a better wind area and had a slightly cooler time.  Zane ate really fast so he had fun driving around on his mower and swinging by for an apple slice or a cookie and then he was off again.  Rachey was concerned about Zane and his not drinking water, so she'd have to get up to tell Zane to drink water and then go back to her spot and eat some more.  :)

Constantly keeping an eye on the neighbors!  :)

Zane's First Day of School!!!!!

The long awaited day has come!!!!!!!  Zane started his first day of Preschool today!!!!  He was soooo excited and I was too!!!!!!!  I got up early to do a few last minute things and to hide "treasures" around the house!  It was part of our lesson, "X marks the spot!"  The curriculum I'm using doesn't teach the alphabet in order, so we started with X!  It was so fun and he wants to do it again with the idea of doing it outside!  That will be especially fun.  I need to think of some treasures he can find outside tomorrow!

Of course, I had to take his picture and sister was right there with him!  I think that might be a challenge...keeping her happy and giving her attention while Zane gets alot of attention.  But, it will come and I will do better tomorrow!  It's sort of a balancing act.  Juggle, juggle, juggle!

I can see that homeschooling is going to be fantastic!!!!  Our lessons only took about an hour and a half this morning!  I'm sure some days will be shorter and some days longer.  He is certainly ready to learn!!!!!!

Here are some pictures I snapped:
I love this one!

He was really cheesin' here!  :)

X marks the spot!  Treasure here: glue bottles! Oh boy!

Decorating his ABC notebook

Happy camper since she could play with markers!

What is attracted to a magnet?  His guesses were on this paper and then we tested them all.
I think it was a great first day.  I can't wait to extend the magnet science lesson to the barn tomorrow, and do some more learning!
