1st Days of School 2019

Zane is a huge 2nd grader and Rachel is in Kindergarten this year.  I was so proud of both of them, but Zane has grown so much and was so excited for school to start.  He barely said good-bye when he went into his room!  I hope he has a great year!  I am so so proud of him.  Rachel did great too.  We both cried, but she has adjusted quickly and goes into her room confidently now.  I am so proud of her too.

So bright, Mom.

It was hard on me, but she's doing really well!

I actually spied on her!!!  :)

After school snack! Cookie and banana.

Second day

First chapel day!
Zane came home today and I thought he had to read me a poem for homework, but instead he recited it!

Last days of summer

Last days of summer!
A nice person at church gave the kids passes to the Children's Discovery museum here in town, so on the very last day of our summer break, we went!  The public schools had already started back to school, so we didn't have to worry about over crowding, that's for sure.

Their favorite area was most definiely the police car complete with sirens that worked and lights!
We packed a picnic lunch and ate their and then the kids played and played.
A gigantic walking stick bug.  I couldn't bring myself to kill it or feed it to the chickens.  I decided if it was that big, it deserved to live.  :)

One last bake!

Putting on heavy firefighter gear!

Rachey was hilarious.  She loved to drive the police car.  She'd hit the sirens and drive like a mad woman.  It was so funny.

Zane the chef.  :)

Cool black lights in one area.

That's it for summer!

Leakey before school

Our last trip to Leakey was a couple weeks before school started.  Just went to have fun!

He had to try out the weedeater that he worked on.

Give her jars and water and she's set.

Found a cool fossil

Pushing  the weed eater for Daddy.

Cool dragonfly!

Using a sycamore branch to move algae.

Off she goes!
The pears were good for picking so everyone helped and we made a pear pie!

Bunny ears!

haha

Picking pears.  This pear catcher was a little much for them, so I got to do it and they'd take them out of the little basket.

Pears!

Rachel's 5th Birthday!!

We had a big weekend!  Rachel turned 5 on Monday so we celebrated on Saturday with the family!  I think everyone had an enjoyable time.  Their newest cousin got to come and they were so happy to play with her!

I thought our theme was going to be Star Wars, but she changed it to Shopkins and left everyone wondering what are Shopkins exactly?  I think by the end of the party we had more of a handle on it.  Just little cute thingies to collect.  In a nutshell.  haha.  Anyway, super cute and I was so happy to have a girly theme.

Enjoy the pictures of our birthday girl!
Maybe the most fun I've had making cupcakes!

A little balloon volleyball!

Nice mingling

The sweetest birthday girl in the world!!!

Love this person so much!!!

What can I say?  Shopkins are fun!

Star wars clothes!

And a shopkins sleeping bag!
We decided we needed an indoor activity so we went bowling!  I think everyone had a great time and were still able to walk the next day!!!  :) :) :)

Playing with her car wash shopkins set!

Party in her class on Monday!  She loved it!
Can't wait to have this year with Rachel!  She is one of a kind and we love her so much!
