Hello March!

March started out with a quick to see my mom last weekend.  The weather was supposed to be gorgeous.  It was not!  But it didn't stop workers from working!  Jeff brought his chainsaw and pruned two peach trees among other things.  Zane also got to use a saw which was super exciting for him.  He did a good job with all his safety gear on.
On our way to Grandma D's Friday night!

I couldn't even see Zane when I checked on him that night.  :)

Workers getting ready to go!

Red Baron peach tree blooming it's heart out.

More peach trees down the hill

Super old pear tree.

Younger pear tree

Algeria plant in full bloom

LOTS of algae in the creek

Hiking with our trail leader, Zane

I saw several plants with perfect water droplets on them.

Pretty flower

This lichen by Zane was such a brilliant orange.

Happy to be crafting in a warm dry house.

Now for the work.  Old old peach trees needed pruning bad.a

He was so proud to be using the saw.

Tree cave!

Hopefully the pruning will be good for them!
We came back home to freezing temperatures the next day.  I could not stand to have our loquats ruined so I covered them with the help of our wonderful neighbor.

Trouble lamp inside to try to keep it from freezing.

At night.  What a sight!  :)

Good bye February!

February is gone and we are already into March!

Zane got to go on his very first fieldtrip/camping trip with Trail Life two weekends ago.  He and Dad went to the USS Lexington and he loved it!  They got to spend the night on it!  He loved flying in the aircrafts and working the guns on the deck.  Pretty cool stuff for a six year old and even if you're not six!

We all worked together to bring wonderful mulch from our neighbor's compost pile and extended our garden!  We've had some cold weather, but hopefully we can finish planting soon!

My Sweetheart!

Getting a dirt bath.  Must feel good.  I'll leave it to them.  :)

I believe this is the rebel alliance!

Beautiful purple mountain laurel blooms!

Their smell might be my favorite.  That and loquats.  I like them both.

Such good swingers!

He wanted to bake!

Mom!!  Take my picture!

You can't really see them but our yard had alot of pretty purple wildflowers in it.

Playing a reading game!

Making apple pie for the family!

Skunk craft!

She has really gotten into climbing trees!
Zane and Jeff got to go on an awesome field trip to the USS Lexington in Corpus.  They were packing and had a stowaway!

A boy's toy for sure!

One things for sure.  Every picture I sent I could see Zane was so happy.  He enjoyed it all.

He loved his sleeping bag and got to stay up late!

Holding up a missile.  (I think)

While the boys were off on their adventure, we had to go do some fun things too.  Here we are at the Victoria Educational Garden, and we had to take a picture on every bench.

Lunch at the park.  It was very windy and a little chilly.  She made lunch a drive by.  She came by and ate, then played and so on.

All three working on the weeds.  :)

We worked on a Star Wars puzzle!  She did great!

My pretty peach blooms!

Making zucchini muffins.

Zane wanted to make banana muffins so we waited until he got home for that.  As you can imagine, we had to have one of each variety on our plate the next morning.  :)

Ugh, we got in an accident a week ago.  Thankfully, the car behind us was trying hard to brake, but didn't make it in time.  I say thankfully, because they could have hit us much harder.  I knew immediately that the kids were okay.  They were scared-especially Rachel, but both did great.  It was raining and we didn't have to go to the hospital or anything or even get out of the car.  The paramedics, firefighters and police officer were so kind.  It was my first wreck behind the wheel and first time ever calling 911.  The 911 operator was extremely nice and helpful too.  The lesson for me was that you never know what's going to happen and to just be as prepared as you can be.  You can do everything you can to be careful, but you just don't know.   Thank you God we were alright.  The paramedic said that you can replace things but you can't replace us.  So true.
Jeff rigged up the trailor lights so we would have a light.  Thank you Jeff!

Jeff came and sat with us and took this picture.

I thought her hair was pretty.

Sunglasses found in our rental suv when we got it.
